OSCE Chairperson calls for calm, restraint in northern Kosovo

VILNIUS, 16 September 2011 - The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis, today called for calm and restraint in northern Kosovo, and emphasized the need for constructive approaches.
“Ensuring the safety and security of people, regardless of their ethnic background, should be the top priority, and I urge all parties to exercise restraint and act responsibly,” said Ažubalis. “Outstanding issues should be resolved in a calm and responsible manner through the EU-led dialogue.”
“The OSCE and its Mission in Kosovo, in close cooperation with its international partners, is committed to help promote a stable and secure environment and the well being of all communities.”
