ASTANA, 7 April 2010 - The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Kazakhstan's State Secretary and Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev, in a phone conversation with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Kadyrbek Sarbayev today expressed deep concern about the unrest in Kyrgyzstan.

Saudabayev said: "The OSCE calls for calm and restraint on all sides, and counts on the government and opposition to show political will and wisdom in resolving together their points of difference in the interests of the people of Kyrgyzstan."

"The OSCE recognizes that there are political, economic and social issues underlying the unrest, which need to be addressed through broad political dialogue. The Organization stands ready to facilitate such a dialogue."
