This meeting will be the first time that chiefs of police from the OSCE area will meet at the highest level. It is part of the Organization's focus in 2006 on combating organized crime.
The meeting aims to:
- Identify problems in co-operating, and put forward solutions
- Enhance awareness of these issues at a political level
- Increase operational co-operation among police services
- Increase the protection of citizens in international police co-operation
Chiefs of police of the 56 participating States and from Asian and Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation will participate.
