HELSINKI, 22 February 2008 - The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Finnish Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva, expressed his serious concern today about recent acts of violence against diplomatic missions and foreign property in Belgrade and about the victims of that violence.
"Peaceful protests are one thing. But acts of this kind are wholly unacceptable," the Chairman-in-Office said.
Minister Kanerva also emphasized the role of the OSCE as a forum for dialogue in difficult times.
"Especially in this difficult situation, the OSCE can help add to the stability in the region," the Chairman-in-Office said.
