OSCE Chairman to sign co-operation agreement at Council of Europe Summit in Warsaw

LJUBLJANA, 16 May 2005 - In his capacity as OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Dr Dimitrij Rupel, Slovenia's Foreign Minister is participating in the Third Council of Europe Summit in Warsaw on 16 and 17 May.
There he will sign a joint declaration on co-operation between the Council of Europe and the OSCE with the Chairman-in-Office of the CoE Committee of Ministers, Polish Foreign Minister Adam Rotfeld.
As well as signing the document on co-operation, Dr Rupel will also be giving a presentation in the third part of the Summit's plenary session, devoted to the European security architecture.
The Summit will focus mainly on the role of the Council of Europe in the light of changes in Europe resulting from the recent enlargement of the European Union.
Media are invited to attend the signing ceremony, which will take place at 9.15 a.m. on Tuesday, 17 May at the Royal Castle (Press Conference Room A "Sala Koncertowa"), Zamkowy Square 4, Warsaw. The two ministers will then each deliver press statements. The Third Session of the Summit, at which Dr Rupel will be speaking, begins at 9.30 a.m..
