59th meeting of Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism takes place in Ergneti

ERGNETI, 29 October 2015 – On 29th October 2015, the 59th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in Ergneti, co-facilitated by Kęstutis Jankauskas, the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM), and Ambassador Angelo Gnaedinger, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus.

The security situation was assessed as stable, and specific incidents such as shootings at signs along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) were constructively discussed. Further exchanges took place especially regarding access to land for local farmers.

Participants shared their respective conclusions regarding the forensic expertise being conducted on the remains of a recently deceased person.

At the end of the meeting, participants bid farewell to Mr. Khokh Gagloity who announced that he was attending the IPRM for the last time as South Ossetian leading participant.

The next IPRM meeting will take place on 26th November.
