BELGRADE/VIENNA, 2 March 2015 – OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić and OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier today condemned the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov on Friday 27 February, and called for a thorough investigation into his death.
“I offer my deepest condolences to his family,” said Dačić. “I trust that the law enforcement authorities will swiftly and thoroughly investigate this incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
“Peaceful opposition should be cherished and cultivated in any healthy society, and be protected and safe from any violence or intimidation,” said Zannier. “Those responsible must be brought to justice.”
