The Seminar on Co-operation among International Organizations and Institutions: Experience in Bosnia and Herzegovina gave the international community an opportunity to compare notes on commitments in BiH in security, economic and human rights issues.
The seminar was attended by prominent representatives of 30 participating States, including the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Republika Srpska.
Sessions were devoted to:
- the role of international organizations and institutions in conflict settlement in BiH
- the international community's input in the economic reconstruction of the country
- the significance of democratic institutions, human rights and the rule of law
Exactly one year earlier, the country's Provisional Election Commission certified that municipal elections were held in a "technically correct manner". Mission figures indicated that nearly 2,396,000 citizens voted in the 14 September 1996 elections.
