The OSCE Office in Baku will officially inaugurate its Legal Resource Centre (LRC) in Ganja on 15 October 2009, as part of its project to provide free legal advice to citizens in the regions of Azerbaijan.
The Ganja LRC was established in March 2009 and is currently operated by Transparency-Azerbaijan, an Azerbaijani non-governmental organization.
The main purpose of the Centre is to deliver free legal advice to the local population in the North-Western region of the country (including Ganja, Yevlakh, Goy-Gol, Goranboy, Gedebey and Dashkesan) and to support a range of specialized training activities for legal professionals in that region. The Centre also serves as a legal resource facility, including a legal library and computer/internet facilities.
The Ganja LRC is one of three such Centres supported by the OSCE Office in Baku. The other two are located in Sumgayit and Lenkoran.
