This three-day training session is the first in a series on fair trial standards and their effective application in court proceedings, involving practising judges, prosecutors and lawyers.
The training aims at supporting the professional development of legal professionals, in order to improve the functioning of the Azerbaijani judicial system in accordance with international best practices.
The training sessions will be divided into seminars on fair trial standards, best practices in court management and the organisation of moot court sessions (ie, simulated court proceedings). These moot court simulations focus on the application of fair trial standards in the daily management of a court room based on simulated court proceedings (role play) and assessing the interaction of the different actors involved in the judicial system.
