OSCE helps develop election training system in Ukraine

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (PCU) together with the country’s Central Election Commission (CEC) organized in Kyiv on 2 April 2013 a conference to discuss the development of a training system for election commission members.
During the event, training software developed with the support of the OSCE was presented to representatives of the Ukrainian parliament, CEC and election experts. It will enable the CEC to conduct training, test knowledge and monitor training quality, as well as perform statistical analysis of the level of expertise of election commission members.
The software was designed as a comprehensive training resource on elections and its use will reduce training costs compared to traditional training methods.
This is part of an OSCE PCU-supported project to develop election training capacity and enhance voter awareness in Ukraine. The project is implemented at the request of the CEC and funded by the Canadian International Development Agency and the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
