About
Protecting human rights and workers' rights is crucial to fight exploitation, including exploitation of migrant workers who are particularly vulnerable to trafficking.
The 11th High-level Alliance against Trafficking in Persons conference “Preventing Trafficking in Human Beings for Labour Exploitation: Decent Work and Social Justice” aims to gain a deeper understanding and to analyse the various interconnected factors that foster the exploitation of people in slavery-like practice.
The event is split into two segments:
The First Segment focuses on the added value and challenges of partnership and co-operation to fight trafficking in human beings as a form of modern-day slavery.
The Second Segment brings together a variety of actors and experts, to generate exchange of information and expertise coming from very diverse fields, explore innovative ideas to tackle the problem and encourage new partnerships. Panels will focus on:
- International Protection and Anti-trafficking Action: how human trafficking, asylum and refugee issues are linked
- Labour Migration Policy and Anti-trafficking Action: how they are connected and why they are sometimes inconsistent
- The Role of the Private Sector : how to engage the private sector in combating trafficking in human beings
- Self-organization, Access to Remedies and Social Inclusion: how to empower workers and enable them to claim their rights
-
Innovative Tools to Combat THBTHB
Trafficking in human beings for Labour Exploitation: how to strengthen and to complement the criminal justice response
Parts of the conference will be streamed live on our website, please see: www.osce.org/event/alliance11/live.
