Young lawyers are invited to participate in the 3rd All-Ukrainian Student Competition on the application of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in national proceedings, titled "European Human Rights Law – At Home." The event is held with the support of Mykola Gnatovskyy, the judge of the European Court of Human Rights elected from Ukraine. For participants the competition provides a unique opportunity to develop professional skills, to practice drafting petitions and delivering arguments, and to gain experience in application of international law provisions.
To participate in the Competition, candidates must complete the registration form by 12 October 2026 (inclusive); the form requires the uploading of concise written memoranda for both parties to the case.
Based on the evaluation of the written memoranda, eight teams will be selected and notified no later than October 15, 2026. These teams will participate in:
- a training session on the application of the European Convention on Human Rights and ECtHR case law (October 29, 2026, in Kyiv);
- the oral rounds of the Competition, featuring a moot court format (October 30, 2026, in Kyiv).
