The 33rd Ministerial Council meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will take place on 3–4 December 2026 in Lugano, Switzerland.
Hosted by the Swiss OSCE Chairpersonship, the meeting will bring together Foreign Ministers from the 57 OSCE participating States, the Partners for Co-operation as well as other high-level representatives.
The Ministerial Council provides a key platform to address the security situation in the OSCE area, review the Organization’s work and strengthen dialogue and co-operation.
The meeting in Lugano will also mark the concluding phase of Switzerland’s Chairpersonship. Its work has focused on five key priorities: the Helsinki Principles for lasting peace; inclusive multilateral diplomacy; anticipating technologies for a safe and humane future; democracy, the rule of law and human rights; and strengthening the OSCE’s ability to act.
The Ministerial Council will therefore be a key political moment to reaffirm the value of dialogue and multilateral co-operation and to give impetus to the OSCE’s role as a platform for dialogue, confidence-building and comprehensive security.
