First Review Conference begins in Belgrade

Representatives of CSCECSCE
Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe participating States exchanged views both on the implementation of the provisions of the Final Act and of the tasks defined by the Conference. Although consensus was not reached on a number of proposals, it was recognized that the exchange of views constituted in itself a valuable contribution towards the achievement of CSCE goals.

Participants decided on plans for future conferences, such as a Meeting of Experts on the Mediterranean at the invitation of Malta, which would convene on 13 February 1979 in Valletta, and a preparatory meeting for a Scientific Forum.
