Event on 29 November - 3 December 2023
The OSCE Secretariat Extra-Budgetary Support Programme for Ukraine and Aspen Institute – Kyiv provide a platform for in-depth reflection and dialogue for leaders of media community on the evolving role of the press and its impact on sustainability of Ukraine’s democracy, establishment of good governance, implications of the war in this sphere. Aspen dialogue model creates conditions for experts, professionals and leaders with a diversity of views to exchange opinions and immerse into substance of challenges in the specific topics in focus. Within four days, the participants will review the following topics:
- The principle of freedom of speech: philosophical meaning, practical impact and limitations;
- Politicization of the media as a challenge for professional journalism;
- The role of journalism in countering propaganda and misinformation in times of war, media literacy;
- Journalism and coverage of military conflicts;
- Transformation of journalism in the era of information technology and social networks, self-regulation and ethical standards.
