For the first time the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine joins as the co-organiser to an important international symposium in Croatia that gathers professionals in mine action, state and non-governmental agencies, equipment producers and operators from various countries in the world. The purpose of the event, annually organized by the Croatian Mine Action Centre – Centre for Testing, Development and Training, is to exchange best practices, new approaches and technologies for all aspects of humanitarian demining.

This year’s discussions will focus on models of mine action systems, quality management of operations; possibilities provided by new technologies; impact of demining on development, economy, energy, transportation and infrastructure. Detailed agenda of the event is available here.

The Co-ordinator supports this effort as part of the project “Building Ukrainian Humanitarian Mine Action Capacity”, implemented by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine with the financial support of Global Affairs Canada (Embassy of Canada in Ukraine), Czech Republic, Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of Norway, Slovak Republic, the United States Government (U.S. Mission to the OSCE), the United States Department of  State (U.S. Embassy Kyiv Ukraine), and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
