BAKU, 31 May 2007 - The OSCE Office in Baku has received an award for its transparency and openness to the media at a ceremony.

The award is presented annually by Zardabi Press Centre to governmental structures, international organizations and embassies that have promoted principles of transparency, openness to the media and free flow of information. It was presented at a ceremony yesterday in Baku.

The winners are selected in a nation-wide survey among local networks of editors, media executives and leading journalists.

Participants in the survey highlighted the OSCE's Press Office's constant efforts in both informing the media on events related to the OSCE, and its work to inform OSCE institutions and participating States about the media situation in Azerbaijan.
