OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine supports young legal professionals interested in human rights career path

The third Inter-University School on Human Rights welcomed 25 students from 13 universities and 10 countries of the OSCE region from 10 to 14 July 2017 in Chernihiv, Ukraine. The annual event serves as a platform for strengthening the capacity of future legal professionals in human rights protection.

During five days the students, guided by outstanding national and international experts, honed their skills in this field and deepened their knowledge of the human right to liberty and security, the prohibition of arbitrary deprivation of liberty and the prevention of modern slavery.

The interactive format of the school, including group tasks, quizzes, a moot court and question and answer sessions, ensured maximum interaction among the students. In their feedback following the course, the participants indicated that they will integrate the knowledge gained about how to promote human rights into their future professional work.  The Project Coordinator in Ukraine has a long track record of supporting youth as a driving force for strengthening rule of law and human rights protection.

The event was organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine within the “Safeguarding Human Rights though Courts” project, implemented with financial support from the governments of Canada and Germany.
