About

Recommendations at the seminar will contribute to the discussions that are taking place in Vienna in the context of the so-called Helsinki +40 process.

Discussions will focus on the OSCE experience in co-operative security in Europe and its possible regional applications as well as on  how the OSCE can build synergies with other regional and multilateral organizations towards the goal of a more stable and peaceful Euro-Mediterranean region.

The event will gather representatives from governments, academia, think tanks, and civil society.

The OSCE Secretary General will open the event. Delegations of the OSCE participating States and Mediterranean Partners are invited to attend the event.

The newly-established OSCE-related “New-Med” network of think tanks and academic institutions, whose goal is to promote “track II” dialogue on Mediterranean co-operation, will be formally announced during the meeting.
