Researcher-in-Residence programme

The OSCE’s Researcher-in-Residence programme has been hosted in the Documentation Centre in Prague since 1998. It provides students, academics and other professionals with access to the CSCE’s and OSCE’s rich archival collections.

How to apply?

If you want to take part in the programme, you need to fill in the application form and also send us:

  • a statement of intent that includes your preferred dates of stay in Prague
  • a full outline of your project, including on how you plan to fund it, and
  • your curriculum vitae that includes your academic credentials and, if available, your previous publications

The outcome of your research should preferably be made available in one of the six OSCE official languages (English, French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish). You are also expected to provide the Documentation Centre in Prague with your completed work for depositing in the Centre’s library.

Depending on the nature of your research, your stay in Prague should usually be between two and three months, although this period can be flexible.

Please note that while use of the Centre’s facilities is free, you must cover costs for accommodation, transport, visas and other associated costs yourself.
