Ukraine

Ukraine has been an OSCE participating State since 1992, following its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Ukraine chaired the OSCE in 2013 and hosted the OSCE Mission to Ukraine between 1994 and 1999, the Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine between 1999 and 2022, and the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine between 2014 and 2022. Ukraine is represented by a Permanent Mission to the OSCE in Vienna.

Every year, the political leadership of the OSCE rotates among the Organization's participating States. The country taking over the OSCE Chair co-ordinates activities and provides political direction throughout that year.
