The Mission provides support to Kosovo institutions in implementing and updating the strategies and action plans against terrorism and to prevent violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism.
It also implements activities to support police efforts to counter terrorism and violent extremism and radicalization, and to strengthen the role of civil society, women, youth and religious leaders. It promotes community policing approaches, inter-institutional co-operation involving civil society, academia, media and the private sector. In addition, the Mission assists the Financial Intelligence Unit in efficiently countering the financing of terrorist organizations, and supports specialized police units that act as first responders to incidents involving terrorism.
