The Mission works closely with key media institutions, including the Press Council of Kosovo, the Independent Media Commission, and Radio Television of Kosovo, to help them become effective and fully functioning institutions through monitoring, reporting, and advocacy initiatives.
The thematic focus falls on three priority areas: enhancing public awareness of the media as to safeguard the profession and create a safer environment for journalists; working within the local context to strengthen existing and emerging capacities of media professionals, particularly in terms of technical skills; and building coalitions amongst experienced journalists to facilitate an exchange of best practices and improve networking.
