OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe
Arms control
The Programme Office helps Tajikistan’s military develop training programmes for its officers on the physical security and stockpiles management of arms, provides training to staff in the Armed Forces Verification Centre, and works on the establishment of an electronic record-keeping system at arms and ammunition depots. It also runs a mine action programme to assist with the eradication of landmines and other explosives. This is done through capacity-building of the Defence Ministry’s Humanitarian De-mining group and facilitation of dialogue and technical co-operation in Central Asia by arranging round tables and other formats for information exchange in the region.
