Tajikistan leads Central Asia in explosive ordnance disposal training

The Regional Explosive Hazards Training Center (REHTC) of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan (MoD) hosted a regional training on Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Level 2, marking a significant step in enhancing Central Asia’s capabilities in mitigating explosive threats. The comprehensive training, which began on 28 April and ran until 16 May, was led by expert instructors from Tajikistan, underscoring the region’s growing self-sufficiency in this critical field.
Tajikistan enhances Explosive Ordnance Disposal capabilities

A two-week Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Level 1-2 training course for 14 officers from Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defense and Border Troops was completed on 15 March 2025 in Gharm, Tajikistan. The course, aimed at enhancing practical skills and knowledge, was jointly conducted by training officers from the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and the Regional Explosive Hazards Training Centre under Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defense.
Central Asian nations enhance their explosive ordnance disposal capabilities through Belgium exchange visit

Experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan recently concluded a valuable exchange visit to Belgium focused on enhancing their Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) capabilities. The visit, which took place from 10 to 14 February 2025, was facilitated and supported by the OSCE field operations in Central Asia and hosted by the Kingdom of Belgium, with participation from the United States.

The 3rd In-Person International Training Board (ITB) Meeting concluded successfully in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) in partnership with the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat and OSCE Forum for Security and Co-operation (FSC) the meeting aimed to enhance co-operation and knowledge-sharing between Central Asia and international partners within the framework of the Integrated Co-operation on Explosive Hazards (ICExH) project.
