This is a collection of papers in English and Ukrainian on the problematics of the contemporary constitutional law, they were presented and discussed in the course of the International Conference Dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, held in Kyiv, 18 December, 2015.

Full report based on the findings of the Trial Monitoring Programme in Ukraine, carried out in 2017 by the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform within “Safeguarding Human Rights through Courts” project of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine with the financial support of Global Affairs Canada.

The OSCE participating States have made a number of commitments regarding the issue of gender equality, women´s participation in efforts to promote peace and security and equal opportunities within the security services, including the armed forces, to allow for balanced recruitment, retention and promotion of women and men. In line with its mandate to assist participating States in the implementation of human dimension commitments, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) has mapped the inclusion and situation of women in the armed forces in the OSCE region through a questionnaire addressed to delegations of all 57 OSCE participating States. The information received from delegations provides a baseline against which to measure progress, gather best practices and support the assistance ODIHR provides to participating States.

A compilation of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo activities related to the prevention and fighting of domestic violence.

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and international NGO “Universal examination network” conducted a research on the quality of law schools in Ukraine. The comprehensive analysis is based on open source-data of admission campaigns for the Master of Law 2017, and partly 2016 and for Bachelor of Law programmes 2013, and partly 2012. It provides analysis of the quality of educational services provided by law schools; the ability of law schools to develop educational potential of students; the quality of skills and knowledge gained by students depending on the form of education, type of higher education institutions, methods of financing, etc. The research can be used to further improve the state policy on higher legal education and education itself.

The Mission, together with the National Anti-Trafficking Commission, the Bureau for Development of Education, the Skopje-based NGO Open Gate ‒ La Strada, and UNITAS Fund Serbia, launched the #OpenYourEyes campaign aiming to raise awareness of the dangers of human trafficking among young people through the use of new technologies.

This publication examines the effectiveness of the national programs and measures for the employment of persons with disabilities. It does so through a step-by-step analysis of the legal, policy, institutional and infrastructural framework, focusing on the outcomes, effects and results of each, as well as on their joint overall impact. The conclusions and recommendations, in line with the obtained data, as well as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Council Directive 2000/78/EC for Equal Treatment in Employment and Occupation, provide an outline for undertaking future steps in order to increase the overall inclusion of persons with disabilities in the open labour market. The publication is not available in English.

This publication explores the problems encountered during the implementation and functioning of the national preventive mechanism (NPM) against torture and ill-treatment in Ukraine. The publication is of interest for NGOs and public authorities whose activities are linked to the monitoring of detention facilities, as well as for civil society activists who want to join monitoring visits.
