2013 Annual Security Review Conference, Vienna, 19 and 20 June 2013

The report shows that hate crime remains a significant problem across the OSCE region, undermining personal, neighbourhood and state security, and eroding confidence across and among communities. People were killed, injured or otherwise harmed when they were targeted in 2010 for no other reason than being perceived as belonging to a specific ethnic, “racial”, religious or other group.

The target audience for this tool includes personnel responsible for SSR in security sector institutions, national government and parliament, international/regional organisations and donors, and civil society organisations. It is also designed for the staff of these organisations that are responsible for gender mainstreaming in the security sector.

The publication is a collection of articles on the OSCE Code of Conduct on Politico-Military Aspects of Security, introducing its history, and Armenia's and international experience in the implementation of the Code, and its practical recommendations. The volume was prepared by a group of experts from Drastamat Kanayan Institute for National Strategic Studies under the Armenian Ministry of Defence and a number of other bodies with the support of the OSCE Office in Yerevan.

The overall objective of the “Best Practices for Roma Integration (BPRI)” project is to contribute to the integration of Roma minorities in the Western Balkans, in accordance with the beneficiaries’ commitments as OSCE participating States and perspective members of the European Union. This report intends to contribute to this overall objective by providing a situation anal¬ysis of the housing conditions of Roma in the Western Balkans and by documenting good learning practice on legalization of land and buildings, upgrading of (informal) Roma settlements and the provision of social housing.

From traditional to online media: Best practices and perspectives is a compilation of all presentations given at the 14th Central Asia Media Conference, organized by the Representative’s office, which brought together international and local experts from five Central Asian participating States of the OSCE. This publication is designed to serve as a record of the events of that conference and is intended for journalists, government and regulatory officials and students.
