This five point guide for journalists provides a quick and handy overview of the most important things to have in mind when reporting on radicalization and violent extremism, by advising journalists on the principles of conflict-sensitive, ethical and fact-based reporting. The guide also advises journalists on the importance of knowing the terminology related to radicalization and violent extremism, including all voices, and avoiding inflammatory content and generalizations when reporting on this topic.

The Diagnostic Tool is a practical tool for assessing shortcomings and strengths in national hate crime victim support structures and services. The primary purpose of the Tool is to enable hate crime victim support practitioners, officials, activists and policymakers to identify areas in their national systems that require improvement to enhance protection and support for victims of hate crime.

These guidelines are intended to set forth the basic components of a legal framework governing elections that are necessary for a country's legal framework to ensure democratic elections.

These guidelines are intended as a reference document for the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to observe and assess the framework for and conduct of public security providers over the course of an election. They may also benefit other organizations engaged in election observation seeking guidance on how to assess these issues. In addition, these guidelines may serve as a reference for the authorities, including those who legislate on electoral security and for public security providers in the context of an election.

ODIHR’s publications, factsheets, and practical guides are vital tools to assist all those working to strengthen democracy and human rights across the OSCE. The Office's 2024 publications covered a wide range of topics, including human rights, strengthening democratic institutions, parliamentary integrity, election observation, combating hate crime, combating human trafficking, Roma inclusion, and many more. Others were translated for the first time into other languages of the OSCE region.

The publication “Environmental Assessment and Recovery Priorities for Eastern Ukraine” incorporates existing information from various sources on impact and threats to the environment posed by a conflict in Eastern Ukraine. The publication highlights the main results of studies on soils, surface waters, risks from industrial enterprises and flooding of mines, and analyzes the issues of influence on the condition of forest resources, protected areas and biodiversity. The analysis elaborated recommendations for environmental recovery, prioritized as “yesterday”, “today”, “tomorrow” and “day after tomorrow”. The publication was prepared with the financial support from governments of Canada and Austria within the joint project of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine “Assessment of Environmental Damage in Eastern Ukraine”.

Resource manual for training advocates who specialize in victim support

The purpose of this Guide is to provide basic guidelines for further steps in the process of comprehensive regulation of the area of information security in Serbia. The study is intended for decision makers: for representatives of the relevant state institutions, as support to efforts directed at regulation of the area of information security in Serbia, but also for representatives of the private sector, academic community and civil society interested in this field. The Guide is produced in co-operation with the CSO the Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies, in the scope of the larger project related to security sector reform, implemented by the OSCE Mission to Serbia, and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

Hate crime victimization can be profoundly traumatic. Victim support is vital to healing the trauma of crime by helping victims to manage the harms inflicted and deal with the aftermath if seeking justice.

Hate crimes pose a threat to the security of individuals, and, if unaddressed, can give rise to wider scale conflict and violence.
