In support of Albania’s National Strategy for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, the OSCE Presence in Albania organized a three-day training programme on sectorial analysis on financial crimes, from 17 to 19 June 2025.

Eleven journalists from different media outlets participated in a training aiming to enhance the quality of reporting on incidents related to small arms and light weapons (SALW), with a specific focus on gender-based violence, on 3 June 2025. The interactive training was organized by the OSCE Presence as part of its support to Albanian authorities’ efforts to strengthen public awareness about the risks and misuse of SALW.

Ambassador Michel Tarran, Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, met with Prof. Dr. Mark Marku, Dean of University of Tirana’s Faculty of History and Philology, on 26 May 2025, to discuss strengthening collaboration and advancing Albania’s goals in the areas of media freedom and freedom of expression.

On 19 and 20 May 2025, the Albanian School of Magistrates in close co-operation with the OSCE Presence in Albania held a specialized capacity-building training aimed at strengthening the skills of judges and prosecutors in investigating and adjudicating complex money laundering cases. About 70 judges and prosecutors participated at the training, including 13 judges and prosecutors from the Academy of Justice of Pristina.

TIRANA/VIENNA, 17 May 2025 – The OSCE Secretary General, Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu, completed his first official visit to Albania today, where he participated in the European Political Community Summit, emphasizing the OSCE’s continuing contribution to regional security and stability.
