Following an invitation from the authorities of Slovakia based on the findings and conclusions of the Needs Assessment Mission conducted from 24 to 26 January 2024 and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Expert Team (EET) for this election.
The expert team will assess the elections for their compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards, as well as with national legislation. Observers will focus on the conduct of the election campaign, including in the media and the campaign finance framework.
In line with ODIHR methodology, the ODIHR EET will not carry out systematic or comprehensive observation of the voting, counting and tabulation on election day. The ODIHR Expert Team members will visit a small number of polling stations on election day and observe the counting of votes cast over the internet.
A final report will be issued approximately eight weeks after the end of the electoral process.
Previous Elections
ODIHR has previously observed nine elections in the country, most recently the 30 September 2023 early parliamentary elections.
