- Following an official invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the OSCE/ODIHR deployed an election observation mission to the 28 October 2012 parliamentary elections.

Presidential Election, 12 February 2012, Turkmenistan
- In anticipation of an invitation from the authorities of Turkmenistan to observe the 12 February 2012 presidential election, the OSCE/ODIHR undertook a Needs Assessment Mission (NAM) from 7 to 9 December. The NAM did not consider that the deployment of an election observation mission, even of a limited nature, would add value at this point in time but did recommend the deployment of an Election Assessment Mission.

Presidential Election, 22 January 2012, Finland
- Following an invitation from the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE to observe the 22 January 2012 presidential election, the OSCE/ODIHR undertook a Needs Assessment Mission (NAM) from 7 to 9 November 2011. The OSCE/ODIHR NAM did not recommend deploying an election-related activity for this election.
