Ambassador Alexey Rogov
Ambassador Alexey Rogov assumed his duties as Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana on 1 September 2025.
Prior to this role, he served as Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.
A career diplomat, Ambassador Rogov has extensive international experience, including as a Counsellor for the Russian delegation to the UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva, Head of the Desk (human rights and civil society) at the Russian Mission to the UN in New York, and Minister-Counsellor at the Russian Embassy in Copenhagen.
He graduated from the School of Oriental Studies at Moscow State University , where he specialized in political science, Islamic law, and Islamic culture.
His areas of expertise include countering terrorism and radical extremism, border security, sustainable development, environmental protection (with a focus on mountain and water-related issues), economic resilience (including support for small and medium-sized enterprises), gender equality, human rights and fundamental freedoms, and inter-confessional dialogue.
Ambassador Rogov speaks Russian, English, German, and Arabic.
