This report presents a baseline assessment of environmental governance, taking into consideration an analysis of legal framework, institutional capacities, and technical expertise. The assessment was conducted from October 2022 to January 2023, by reviewing legal framework and literature, and interviews conducted with 25 institutions, and the validation of the findings in a technical consultation workshop with the participation of 40 attendees, representing compliance and management agencies, police, prosecution, civil society, media and academia. With an Overview of International Initiatives and Standards on the Safety of Journalists and Other Media Actors

The Analysis on Mental Health of Journalists in Serbia was drafted by the Working Group consisting of four journalists and a psychologist, with the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s support. The main source for collecting data was a pilot survey conducted with the assistance of journalists and media associations (UNS, NUNS, NDNV, ANEM, AM, Prouns, and Sport’s Association of journalists) that provided a factual insight into the degree of presence and sources of stress and professional burnout that journalists encounter in their daily work. The results of this survey will serve as a base for defining concrete activities and projects that will help journalists coping with the challenges threatening their mental and physical health.

Effectively combating trafficking in human beings requires a strategic, co-ordinated, and well-resourced national response, utilizing a whole-of-society approach that can protect victims, prosecute traffickers and prevent exploitation. National Action Plans (NAPs) are fundamental to successfully delivering such a response. Recognizing the importance of NAPs within national anti-trafficking systems, the Office of the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings analyzed the NAPs that are currently in use within the OSCE region to examine their structure and thematic priorities against persistent challenges and emerging trafficking trends.

The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina developed, and, during the period from October 2019 to March 2022, implemented the project “Quality Education through Curriculum Reform”, funded by the governments of the Kingdom of Norway and the Italian Republic. The Project aimed to support education authorities in answering to an urgent need for change (PISA 2018, TIMSS 2019, and the struggles of online teaching amidst the COVID-19 pandemic) by improving inclusivity and quality of education through reforming curricula in line with the BiH Common Core Curriculum based on Student Learning Outcomes.
