The OSCE Mission in Kosovo provides capacity-building for the Kosovo Police and community safety forums, along with monitoring and advocacy for the implementation of the Community Safety Strategy and Action Plan. To raise awareness about community safety forums, the Mission has prepared the new edition of a community safety brochure as a development tool. The new brochure comes with a new and illustrated content, stories on best practices and community project initiatives taken between 2013 and 2017, updated contact information, stats and motivating words from community safety stakeholders from all police regions. It aims to strengthen the police-public partnership in municipalities and raise awareness on community safety forums and community policing concept Kosovo-wide

The OSCE Mission in Kosovo invites you to apply for a five-month apprenticeship programme for 30 young persons between the ages of 20 and 24, in close co-operation with local government institutions and partner Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The programme aims at bringing young women and men closer to local government institutions and relevant CSOs directly involving them in local participatory processes, as well as decision and policy-making processes. The report assesses the progress in the implementation of the legal and policy framework for the reintegration of persons repatriated to Kosovo. It covers the period 2014 – 2015 and notes the improved performance of municipal institutions following the process of decentralization culminating in the adoption of Local Action Plans, the improved data collection following the introduction of the electronic Case Management System, and strengthened communication between central and local level institutions. The report concludes that while some room for improvement remains, the institutions have made commendable progress with regards to implementation of the legal and policy framework.

The OSCE Mission in Kosovo conducts regular monitoring, reporting and advocacy for the full realization of the language rights of all communities in Kosovo. Analyzing practices at the local level, this report reveals that more than seven years after its promulgation, the Law on the Use of Languages remains only partially implemented due to insufficient human and financial resources, often accompanied by lack of sufficient understanding of obligations and/or lack of political will.
