‘The GAP analysis – possibilities of economic empowerment by applying sustainable business models following the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Serbia’, is intended to assist policy makers and businesses to make informed decisions about transitioning to circular economy. The publication maps potential entry points for circular initiatives, based on the findings of a survey, conducted among 80 companies across the country. The GAP analysis contains an Action plan aimed at building a resilient economy by introducing regulatory, promotional, economic and institutional changes. The publication is available in Serbian language.

This Handbook is a practical tool for regulatory and policy impact assessment at central and local governance and is intended to facilitate the process of incorporating the gender perspective in decision-making. The Handbook provides basic information and practical guidelines on how to assess the impact of gender equality on policies and adopted decisions and regulations. The methodology and the practical tools presented in this Handbook can be applied to other vulnerable groups in society, such as: people with disability, minority groups, etc.

This publication seeks to shed light on the role of OSCE participating States in combating orphanage trafficking—a pressing yet overlooked form of child trafficking. It highlights the pathways through which children are trafficked into institutions, analyses both the demand and supply side that fuels orphanage trafficking, examines the policies that perpetuate the institutionalization of children, and showcases best practices for reducing the exploitation and abuse fuelled by the orphanage industry.

The concept of countering chemical threats is highly relevant for Ukraine, which has a large number of high-risk chemical facilities. Potential risks are significantly higher today, when plants, enterprises and storehouses can be targeted or even accidentally damaged during hostilities.  A resulting spillage (release) of hazardous chemicals poses a threat to human health, life, and to the environment. This leaflet produced by the OSCE projects in Ukraine provides a number of practical tips that will help civilians to recognize chemical threat, take safety measures and provide first aid in case of poisoning. 

Disasters affect the security of people and nations. Their impact can cross borders and transboundary co-operation is often required to address related challenges. Climate change is expected to increase the frequency and scale of disasters. The OSCE with its comprehensive approach to security plays an important role in strengthening resilience of communities, states and regions.

Hazardous waste and chemicals, if not properly managed, can have a grave impact on the environment and public health as they can contaminate water, soil and the atmosphere. The OSCE helps its participating States to effectively manage hazardous waste and chemicals and to minimize the serious security risks that they pose.
