Hate-motivated incidents are often violent manifestations of intolerance which instil fear and divide communities. Tackling underlying prejudice is essential in combating the spread of these divisive actions. The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina supports the work of government institutions, the criminal justice system, local authorities and civil society to effectively respond to these incidents. The Hate Monitor provides a monthly update on incidents and responses throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In February 2017, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) launched a two-year project to help improve skills of, and collaboration among, criminal justice professionals in each of four OSCE participating States – Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Poland – and to improve their co-operation with civil society.The outcomes and experiences of project activities were presented and discussed at a workshop in Milan on 15 January 2019. The event was organised together with the Milan Bar Association (MBA) and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
