OSCE trains Tajikistan’s Border Troops officers in cybersecurity

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe successfully conducted a five-day cybersecurity training for fifteen mid-ranking officers from the Analytical Department of Tajikistan’s Border Troops from 6 to 10 October 2025.
The training, delivered by two international and one local expert, equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to protect their digital working environment. The comprehensive course covered key topics such as data security, safe browsing practices, password management, ethical hacking, and threat mitigation.
The programme aimed to raise awareness of cybersecurity risks and promote responsible digital behaviour among participants, from beginners to those seeking to strengthen their understanding of cyber defence. Daily sessions combined theoretical lessons, interactive modules, and practical exercises, enabling participants to explore concepts including operating systems, data backup strategies, antivirus solutions, and the dangers posed by phishing, social engineering, and malicious software.
By enhancing participants’ ability to implement robust cybersecurity measures, the initiative contributes to strengthening border security and addressing emerging cyber threats.
This training forms part of the implementation of Tajikistan’s National Border Management Strategy and aligns with the OSCE Border Management Concept.
