OSCE boosts Tajikistan’s ministry of interior capacities in combating cybercrime
The OSCE has reaffirmed its commitment towards strengthening cybersecurity measures in Tajikistan through two specialized practical training courses conducted at its Programme Office in Dushanbe from 12 to 16 May and from 19 to 22 May 2025. Thirty-two law enforcement officials (31 men and one woman) from the Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in two intensive five and four-day courses focused on enhancing their capabilities in usage of open-source cybercrime intelligence and modern investigation techniques. This comprehensive initiative aimed to equip participants with advanced skills and knowledge essential for effective cybercrime intelligence gathering, by incorporating global best practices into their methodologies. Both courses were facilitated by experts from the General Directorate of Security and Turkish International Academy Against Drugs and Organized Crime (TADOC), by the request of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Tajikistan in co-operation with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Tajikistan and Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA).
On the conclusion of each course, active participants were awarded with a certificate in recognition of their successful completion of the course. The ceremony culminated with closing remarks delivered by Tatiana Turcan, Deputy Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe; Major General Azizulozoda Safialo, National Coordinator on Police Reform under the Ministry of Internal Affairs; His Excellency Umut Ajar, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Tajikistan and İbrahim Ethem Ünal, TIKA Coordinator in Dushanbe. Their insights underscored the significance of continued co-operation among all stakeholders committed to advancing cybersecurity.
