OSCE Presence in Albania organizes exhibition showing youth’s artwork on preventing violent extremism and dealing with the past
An art exhibition supported by the OSCE Presence in Albania is on show at the Fine Arts Gallery (FAB) in Tirana from 5 June 2017 to 12 June 2017 featuring the best entries submitted to the OSCE Presence by students of the Tirana University Faculty of Fine Arts on the themes of ‘Radicalization’ and ‘Dealing with the past’.
The exhibition aims at encouraging youth to use art to reflect on two currently debated subjects in Albania.
The topic ‘Radicalization’ reflects the preventive efforts by the OSCE to address violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism by stimulating a dialogue around these phenomena, especially among youth.
The second theme “Dealing with the past” aims at raising awareness and facilitating dialogue about Albania’s former repressive regime of 1944-1990 and its human rights violations.
The exhibition is led by the OSCE Presence in Albania, with the support of the Italian Embassy, the University of Arts and Tirana’s FAB Arts Gallery. A catalogue of the exhibited artwork will also be printed with the support of the Italian Embassy.
