Analysis of data collected from Trial monitoring in 2016
In the course of 2016, the OSCE Mission to Skopje implemented the project “Enhancing the independence, transparency and efficiency of the judiciary through trial monitoring together with the Coalition “All for Fair Trials”, a network of 14 citizen associations monitoring criminal trials before competent courts in all four appellate regions in the country. The trial monitoring was specifically focused on the application of the new Law on Criminal Procedure in the basic courts and it resulted in the analysis presented hereby which, besides providing an insight into the implementation of the new Law, also offers recommendations for future activities and reforms aimed at enhancing the capacities of the judicial system in the country which, in turn, would lead to increased public trust in the legal system.
