Ambassador Dominique Waag
French career diplomat, Dominique Waag, assumed her duties as Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro on 1 November 2021.
She was previously posted as Political Counsellor in Algeria and Tunisia, and from Paris dealt with the Middle East Peace Process. From 2012 to 2015, she was Consul General in Alexandria, Egypt, and was appointed Chevalier in the French National Order of Merit. As Deputy Head of the diplomatic mission of the French Republic in Bulgaria from 2015 to 2018, Ms Waag monitored the EU Co-operation and Verification Mechanism on the rule of law and the fight against organized crime. Prior to her assignment at the OSCE, she was Head of Department at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in which she managed co-operation programmes and cultural policy in higher education and research in all regions on the world. Ms Waag has served for 25 years in the French diplomatic service.
Dominique Waag graduated from Institut d’Etudes politiques de Strasbourg and received Master degree (M2) in international relations and diplomacy from the Université de Paris-La Sorbonne.
