OSCE supports study visit of Kazakhstan customs officials to Switzerland
A group of four customs officials from Kazakhstan’s Finance Ministry and a representative from Kazakhstan’s Chamber of Commerce concluded an OSCE-supported four-day study visit to Basel and Zurich, Switzerland on 28 October 2016.
The delegation was introduced to best practices on transit procedures for temporary imported goods in line with enforcing the Convention on Temporary Admission (Istanbul Convention) and the ATA Carnet System, international customs and temporary export-import documents. The officials also visited customs checkpoints in Basel and Zurich, where they were acquainted with customs clearance procedures for temporarily imported goods and participated in expert meetings with local officials.
The event was co-organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Astana and the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan’s Finance Ministry with the support of Switzerland’s Federal Customs Administration. It is part of the Office’s long-term effort at promoting good governance and facilitating trade in the region.
