OSCE concludes second series of workshops for secondary school teachers in Kazakhstan on energy efficiency
The second series of three OSCE-supported training seminars for secondary school teachers on energy efficiency concluded on 8 December 2015 in Kostanay, Kazakhstan.
More than 600 secondary school teachers the Akmola, Almaty, Astana, Kostanay, the Eastern and Northern Kazakhstan Regions were acquainted with energy-saving tools that can be used in everyday life. The workshops emphasized the use of green technologies at schools and households as well as effective methods to teach students about environmental issues. The events were organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Astana in partnership with the Education and Science Ministry, the Human Health Institute NGO, the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature, the Ecoobraz public association and the National Company Astana EXPO-2017.
The seminars are part of the OSCE Programme Office’s activities aimed at awareness-raising on climate change, green growth principles and sustainable development. They fall in line with the priorities of the 2014 Swiss and 2015 Serbian OSCE Chairmanships on engaging youth.
