OSCE Presence supports Civil Service Commission in publishing 2011 Annual Activity Report
The Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Eugen Wollfarth, handed over the OSCE Presence-funded publication of the Civil Service Commission Annual Activity Report for 2011 to the Commission Chairperson, Fatmir Tafaj, on 25 May 2012.
The report entitled “Bulletin 2011” also includes 22 reports on inspections conducted by the Commission over the past year in several ministries, municipalities and councils of regions.
“A professional civil service is a prerequisite for a democratic society based on the rule of law,” Wollfarth said. “This Annual Report and the inspection reports will further promote the work of the Civil Service Commission and will increase the transparency of its activities.”
Wollfarth added that such publications would serve as guidance to state institutions on how to best tackle issues related to the management of civil servants and seek constructive legal solutions for providing better service to people in Albania.
The publication will be distributed to all civil service system state institutions and other official bodies, as well as to non-for-profit organizations and libraries.
Since 2003, the OSCE Presence in Albania has enjoyed a fruitful co-operation with the Civil Service Commission, and has provided training to civil servants working in local government units and in independent state institutions.
