OSCE Mission condemns bomb attack on Croatian publisher
ZAGREB 3 March 2003
ZAGREB, 3 March 2003 - The OSCE Mission to Croatia has condemned Saturday's bombing of the car belonging to the prominent Croatian publisher, Ninoslav Pavic, owner of the media house, Europapress Holding.
While the act of terror fortunately did not result in any personal injuries, the OSCE Mission believes that any threats to media professionals, publishers and journalists constitute an attack on the freedom of the media and thereby an attack on the fabric of a free society.
OSCE Mission Spokesperson, Alessandro Fracassetti, said today: "The OSCE Mission expects a swift and thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice".
He added that the authorities should ensure that journalists, especially those who are investigating corruption and crime cases, should be able to go about their work in a safe and secure environment.
