OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine trains judges in legal writing
A series of training seminars for Ukraine’s administrative court judges, supported by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (PCU), started on 20 November 2012 in Kamianets-Podilskyi in western Ukraine.
Three training seminars will be held for administrative court judges of Vinnytsia appellate administrative district to increase their knowledge of legal writing techniques and to strengthen their skills in drafting well-argued decisions.
The training programme is based on a comprehensive handbook on legal opinion writing, developed with PCU support in 2011. Some 80 judges from Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi regional administrative courts and from the Vinnytsia administrative court of appeal will be trained by the end of 2012.
The training series forms part of a PCU project to enhance the coherence of administrative court practice in Ukraine. The project is implemented upon the request of the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine and funded by the German Government.
