OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine supports law forum for students and young lawyers
Eighty law students and young lawyers are taking part in a four-day all-Ukraine law forum that started on 20 September 2012 in Sevastopol in Crimea, with support from the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (PCU).
The forum participants will enhance their knowledge about human rights, anti-corruption, provision of legal aid as well as private law and medical law issues. They will also learn about lobbying and advocacy methods, presented by prominent legal experts.
The PCU has been engaged since 2005 in improving the legal education system in Ukraine through providing support to the development and operation of ‘legal aid clinics’, analyzing existing training programmes and their adherence to international standards, requirements and trends, and developing recommendations.
The forum is organized by the Ukrainian Justice Ministry as part of a PCU project aimed at improving legal and human rights education in Ukraine.
