OSCE Office supports Finland study visit for Tajik border and law-enforcement training academies
HELSINKI, 21 May 2010 - Officials from Tajikistan's border and law-enforcement training academies completed an OSCE-organized study visit to Finland today.
The five-day study tour, organized by the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, mainly focused on inter-agency co-operation between police, customs, border guard and emergency services agencies. The participants learned about Finnish training practices and visited the Border and Coast Guard Academy in Espoo, the Customs Training Unit in Helsinki, the Police College of Finland in Tampere and the Emergency Services College in Kuopio.
Participants also discussed Finland's co-operation framework and operational inter-agency activities during visits to the national Police-Customs-Border Guard Criminal Intelligence and Analysis Centre and its regional units, and to border crossing points.
The study visit was organized as part of OSCE Office activities to support implementation of the OSCE Border Security and Management Concept.
