OSCE Mission to Skopje trains civil servants on drafting legislation
SKOPJE, 20 April 2011 - Members of the public and state administration dealing with legislative drafting will learn to improve their skills through an OSCE-supported project launched in Skopje today.
The project, initiated by the Ministry of Information Society and Administration (MISA) and supported by the OSCE Mission to Skopje, aims to support reform of the public and state administration and includes development and implementation of a comprehensive training curriculum in lawmaking and regulatory matters, targeting civil servants dealing with legislative drafting. The curriculum will be supplemented with an e-learning course.
“The OSCE Mission remains continuously and fully committed to assisting the national authorities to ensure an inclusive and efficient lawmaking process, resulting in better and more easily accessible legislation,” said the Acting Head of OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Natalya Drozd.
“We believe this project will enhance the country’s capacities in lawmaking and improve regulation reform, and consequently, contribute to greater adherence to the rule of law.”
Ivo Ivanovski, the Minister for Information Society and Administration, added: "The government is committed to public administration reform, which is long-term and complex and touches on different aspects of administration. The drafting and implementation of laws is certainly one of the most important aspects in this process.”
The project will be implemented in 2011, and continues the efforts of the OSCE Mission to Skopje undertaken in this field since 2007.
